Meet Helen McCrarren
My approach starts with what's strong, not what's wrong.
I became a social worker because I have always loved meeting people and hearing their stories. I'm interested in what matters to people and what has shaped the way they see themselves and their lives.
During more than 30 years working in mental health, I witnessed extraordinary courage — the way people kept going through depression, grief, exhaustion and very difficult circumstances. I also saw capable people lose trust in themselves, not because they lacked strength, but because they had become exhausted.
That stayed with me. I wanted to help people find practical ways to rebuild their energy, reconnect with their inner wisdom and reclaim their happiness.
Over the years, that led me to explore and train in Energy Medicine, acupuncture, mindfulness, EFT and creative journaling. Together with my experience in mental health, these have shaped the way I work today. I am a CORU-registered social worker.
I believe that when we have more energy and the right support, we are better able to recognise what we need, trust ourselves again and move towards the life we want.
